One of the main objectives of Scouting is to make our meetings and activities accessible to all whenever possible. Our Jubilee Scout Hall was built in the 1970's and is accessed via steps which means that not all persons can access our hall. To ensure that our Scout Hall can be accessed by all users with or without assistance, we have decided to secure funding and donations to enable us to have an exterior disabled persons access ramp constructed to our main hall access. This ramped access will also allow us to make our Scout Hall available to hire out for use by other community groups and users for meetings and activities during the day, where a ramped access is a necessity for their users. Hughes Architects have kindly agreed to provide drawings for these works at no cost to our Scout Group, and our next step is to secure funding to meet the costs of the planning consent application and the construction of this ramp. Once the drawings have been finalised and tenders for the construction works have been received, we will update this campaign to identify the total funding that we need to secure. All donations for this campaign would be greatly appreciated.
