Welcome to Newtown Robert Owen Scout Troop
Newtown Scout hall was built in 1978. Since then, the building has seen many new faces come and go, both children and leaders. We play an active part in Scouting in Montgomeryshire and our local community, and invite new members to join us.
Our Scout Troop meets every Wednesday evening from 5:30pm until 7:00pm at the same time as our Cubs Pack during school term dates at Newtown Jubilee Scout Hall.
Whilst we already have a Scout Troop Leader and a number of Section Assistants that help out with both our Scout Troop and our Cubs Pack, we are looking to find additional Assistant Scout Leaders to join our Scout Troop so that we can plan and deliver more fun and adventurous scouting activities.
No previous experience of having been a youth member of the scouting movement or being an adult scouting volunteer previously is required as training, guidance and mentoring will be provided, and there is a host of information about programme planning available on the Scouts UK website. The only qualification you need is a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of young people in our community and a sense of humour.
Safety and Safeguarding of all of our youth members and adult volunteers is very important to us as a youth charity, so all of our adut volunteers need to succesfully pass a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) before becoming an adult volunteer working with young people.

If you are wondering how to volunteer to be part of our scouting volunteers team, you will find some useful information on the Scouts website about becoming an adult volunteer in Scouts
If you can make time to help us by volunteering, or you would like more information about being an adult scouting volunteer please email:
